Purpose
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Thermoskin devices on local microclimate, blood flow and muscle function.
Results
Microclimate
- Thermoskin Wrist (8*226) generated less Relative Humidity (RH) than our direct competitor.
- Note: The greater the Relative Humidity the more we sweat. Thermoskin has the ability to wick moisture and allow for a free flow of air between the material and the skin, therefore lessening the impact of RH under the product.
Physiological Responses
- When wearing a Thermoskin Knee (8*208) product there was on average 8% greater blood flow versus the control condition over a 120 minute period.
- When wearing a Thermoskin Ankle/Foot (8*232) product over a 120 minute period, participants experienced a 19% increase in blood flow compared to the control condition.
- Wearing a Thermoskin Knee (8*208) product provided substantially greater muscle temperature when compared to the control condition.
- Wearing a Thermoskin Ankle/Foot (8*232), Lumbar Support (8*227) and Knee (8*208) product provided substantially greater skin temperature when compared to the control condition in their respective areas.

Muscle Function
- Wearing Thermoskin Shorts (8*225) improved flexibility by 4.26% at the hip/flexors when compared to the control condition.
