About Armadale Gymnastics Club

Armadale Gymnastics Club is situated within the City of Armadale, Perth WA and currently has 156 registered members. We were previously known as Armadale PCYC and have proudly produced many regional and state champions in the field of gymnastics. We were even the first club that Commonwealth Games medallist Emily Little originated from in 2000. In 2015 we became independently incorporated as Armadale Gymnastic Club Inc. due to the PCYC Federation suddenly ceasing the gymnastics program within the City of Armadale. We are a community based, not for profit organisation aiming to teach gymnastics in an "all inclusive" environment catering for all ages and abilities. Armadale Gymnastics Club is an affiliated member of Gymnastics WA and provides a Kindy Gym program for 0-4 years and levelled artistic gymnastics classes for both girls and boys. Recreational and competitive classes in both WAG and MAG levels 1-10 are offered.

Value to the Community

Armadale Gymnastics Club provides an affordable sporting opportunity, not only for females which is lacking in the Armadale area, but for the wider community regardless of age or gender. We have created a gymnastic family that provides a safe and caring venue for children from all races, social economic classes, ages and abilities. We will be introducing an adults program in the near future and there are opportunities to take our programs into local schools through Gymnastics Australia’s junior recreational gymnastics LaunchPad program. LaunchPad is about teaching children the fundamental movement skills they need to lead an active and healthy life. We give local children opportunities to be physically active, fit and healthy whilst offering exciting and enjoyable timetables where children can have fun, meet new friends, and learn independence.

Why the funds are needed

The Thermoskin Community Sports Fund would enable our club to purchase a new low competition beam and beam wheels. This beam is an important piece of equipment as it not only teaches confidence and balance to our younger gymnasts but enables our higher level gymnasts to safely master the more difficult requirements of their beam routines. Our club is growing so quickly that our fundraising efforts cannot compete with the growing demand for new equipment to efficiently run safe, well organised, yet fun classes. We are continually working towards our goal of hosting club competitions with other affiliated Gym WA clubs once we have better equipped our gym with competition standard equipment.
