The Boulder City Tigers have a very rich sporting history dating back to 1896 and is Western Australia's oldest football club. This year the club is proud to be celebrating 120 years which has included 26 League Premierships and a further nine Grand Final appearances. Over the last few years the club has gone through a large period of change with the development of children and local players taking priority over recruit players from outside of the region in the pursuit of quick flags. As a result the club's on field success has suffered until last year where the club made finals once again in all levels. With a strong commitment to developing local talent of all ages, the funds would be used to purchase further equipment to allow for this to continue to take place at a high standard. The Boulder Tigers have over 200 members to date.
Value to the Community
As Western Australia's oldest football club, the Boulder Tigers have been an active part of the Goldfields community for 120 years. The Club has provided a safe and nurturing environment for thousands of children, youth, adults, spectators and families over the years and has been responsible for assisting in the positive physical, mental and emotional development of these community members. The club also provides support to numerous local organisations, not-for-profits, community events and general members of the community (including those from disadvantage, disengaged and underprivileged backgrounds) in the form of financial, venue, development and personal support. The club is commitment to the ongoing development of local children, young people and community members and, with support, hopes to continue the fantastic successes we have achieved to date well into the the future.
Why the funds are needed
The funds are needed to allow for the club to purchase equipment to further assist in the ongoing development of local children, young people and community members. Due to the ruff financial conditions within the community, available support and funds to source this locally no longer exists. In order to reach more of the community and have greater successes within contact time frames with participants, the Boulder Tigers need support like this funding.
