Colac Kookas represent the Colac region in basketball within the Country Basketball League. This year our women's team, in their first year of competition played off for the Championship, one huge effort. Imagine what we could do with more resources and additional support. Our Kookas team has 10 player with an additional 2 training players and the same for our Men's side. As mentioned our Women's team only formed this past season 2015. whilst the me are in their 5th year formed in 2011. Our team is based out of Colac a small to medium regional community in the south west of Victoria. For the past 3 seasons we have been without our home court due to redevelopment work, so once again imagine when we have a true home court. The noise atmosphere and just making it darn hard for visiting teams and the court.
Value to the Community
Our team represents all walks of life and provides opportunities for all players and officials. We foster and develop an All Abilities team and support the wider community. Our core value. Be the best person you can be and play ball
Why the funds are needed
Our association has been dealing with no home court interrupted seasons and the grant would allow us to purchase much needed training equipment and recovery equipment for our team Match Basketball $300 Yoga Match for Stretching $200 First Aid Kits $250 Match Uniforms $750 This would provide us with the essentials for our team at match days and use equipment for warm down and stretching . Generally we just need an injection of funds to push us along our path.
