About Devil State Derby League
Formed in 2011 Devil State Derby League is a skater operated league and a non for profit organisation. We’re made up of over 50 skaters, officials and coaches and are constantly growing. We promote an all inclusive, positive attitude, derby is all about having fun and pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone. In our short time as a league we have travelled and participated in 2 TGSS tournaments, an Australian wide roller derby tournament. Hosted a Vic/Tas tournament weekend where we played against Victorian teams, as well as travelled all over the state competing against the other 3 leagues within Tasmania. We have just commenced our first beginner program or 'fresh meat" of approximately 20 skaters to add to the purple family
Value to the Community
We are an all inclusive club and hold one to two fresh meat programs every year! Our sport involves fitness and is a family friendly environment. Most importantly there is a role for everyone in our league no matter what your size, sex or fitness level is! DSDL has two home teams and one 'travel team' and this grant would cover all skaters to have a new uniform
Why the funds are needed
The funds would be needed to purchase uniforms for our skaters both home teams and our travel team.
