About Eschol Park U9 Gold

The Eschol Park Under 9 Gold football team - competing in the Macarthur region of south west Sydney - may be younger and smaller than a lot of your nominees, but their passion and commitment to the game is no less. The team have been together since 2012 with new members joining as their team expanded to the larger format game. Not only are the kids and coaches dedicated, but the families of each team member are just as committed to the team. This year the 9 person team is headed to Canberra to compete in the Kanga Cup - an international tournament with several hundred teams set to play. The team has been fundraising like crazy to help cover the entry fee, uniforms and cold weather gear. Last year the team won the Mini Team of the Year after an undefeated season and hope to have another great year

Value to the Community

The team is a part of Eschol Park Football Club in the Macarthur district football competition. The club is one of the largest clubs in the district with teams ranging from U6 up to Over 35s and includes mixed, mens, womens, boys and girls teams. The Club brings together all members of the community, regardless of gender, race, religion or socio-economic background. Our team in particular includes both boys and girls and quite a diverse range of ethnic and religious backgrounds. Our fundraising efforts have brought together local businesses in support and our bbqs have brought the community out in support.

Why the funds are needed

We are in need or cold weather equipment; tracksuits, beanies and skins for the kids to play in when we go to Canberra
