Fitness For Living is an outdoor group training program targeted at people from 13-70 years of age. They welcome anyone of any age and of any fitness level with their youngest member at 13 and oldest at 66. They are located in Keilor Downs, Victoria at Green Gully Reserve and operate twice a week. The group attendance can be from 6 to 20 people. On the 4th of May Fitness For Living will have their first birthday.
Value to the Community
At the end of each season of training, Fitness For Living hold fundraisers to support loocal charities. To date they have raised money for The Lighthouse Foundation which provides comfort and food for the homeless, Variety Western Chances which provides practical equipment for children with disabilities in Australia and Western Chances who hand our scholarships to students from disadvantaged families in the fields of academic, sports, dance, acting and music. As a result of the fundraisers, Fitness For Living have been featured in the local newspaper Brimbank Leader earlier this year.
Why the funds are needed
They need funds to cover the costs of hiring a hall during the winter months to protect members from outside elements. They are also in need for new equipment such as boxing gloves, hurdles, mats, skipping ropes and other equipment. Funds would also be used for food and drinks for the next fundraiser.
