Amateur boxing (also called Olympic boxing) is practised at the collegiate level, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, and in many other venues sponsored by amateur boxing associations. I compete in the 51kg and 48kg Elite female division, I have represented Australia at the World Championships in 2014 and in several international camps. I started boxing in 2011 in Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne VIC. I am currently training at Pro Fit in Coolaroo. My goals are to fight on a regular basis and represent Australia at the Olympic and Commonwealth games. I have had 20 fights all around Australia and overseas.
Value to the Individual
Boxing means a lot to me as hard as the sport can be it has taught me the most about myself and life. With hard work and dedication I've proved to myself that hard work pays off and anything you set your mind to is achievable. My life revolves around my boxing I want nothing more than to represent my country at the Olympic and Comminwealth games and will do anything it takes to get there. I sacrifice a lot to pursue my dream but I wouldn't have it any other way. Boxing has taught me that losing isnt the end of the world, if anything it can be a new beginning to many great opportunities.
