About Marty ‘Nastee’ Jackson

I am a Para Shot Putter (Single below knee paralysis) I began in October of 2014 after a tackle on the Gridiron field in June of 2014 left my left leg paralysed. I compete for Athletics Chilwell in Geelong. In this short time I have Won Gold in the Vic Country Championships in both 2015 & 2016. I have also won back to back GOLD in the Victorian Championship State Titles in 2015 & 2016. I have qualified for Nationals and with plenty of hard work and training I hope to podium finish. I have also competed at the International IPC World Athletics Grand Prix where I finished 5th with a PB in my event. Big things to come

Value to the Individual

Sport has always been the driving force on which I have based the rest of my life on. Setting goals, achieving them and setting some more all with the vision of being a champion. Sport empowers me to be better. Sport has opened new opportunities and gives me a platform to lift others around me. It provides me the chance to just be proud of what I can achieve and be inspired by those who have been before me. Sport shows you what people are really made of and provides life long lessons. I just love sport....especially Shot Put...I love that alot!

Why the funds are needed

2 x Indoor Shotput @ $85ea = $170 1 x Throwing Shoes @ $165ea = $165 10 wks Winter Training at Functional Result Training Centre @ $165. TOTAL = $500 I need to maximise my Off-Season Winter training. Due to poor weather and the difficulty of throwing in a wet circle with leg paralysis, I look to move some of my winter throwing training sessions indoors. I believe this will help me reach my full potential.
