With a total pool of $10,000 available plus a gift of Thermoskin’s Plantar FXT Calf Socks, 2016 winners will be decided upon by a panel of 4 judges including Melanie Wright (Australian Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record Holder in Swimming), Sharelle McMahon (former Australian Netballer), Brett Emerton (ex-Socceroo) and Thermoskin CEO Matthew Symington.

The formation of the Australian Teir 2 Women's Ice Hockey League (A2WIHL) is designed to act as a feeder league to the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL), With the formation of the A2WIHL The Melbourne Dragons Ice Hockey Club has created 2 teams (Melbourne Dragons White and Melbourne Dragons Black) which is helping players with developing the necessary skills needed to further their game, with specialised trainings and games. Currently the Melbourne Dragons have 25 registered members across 2 teams.
Value to the Community
The formation of the A2WIHL is designed to act as a feeder league to the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) and help with the development of women's ice hockey in Melbourne
Why the funds are needed
The money is needed to help cover the costs of training and compatition fees for the two teams, which would be split between hiring Ice time at Docklands ice rink and paying compatition fees for the next round (9th and 10th of July this year) which are roughly $300 per player
