About Mornington Missiles

The Mornington Missiles is a women's tennis team that competes in the Asia Pacific Tennis League Competition. The team consists of 8 players, 1 team manager and 1 team coach. The league is played nation wide across Australia, with the Missiles being part of the South East Conference, made up of teams from VIC and SA. Only 6 clubs in each conference are accepted to compete. The winner of each conference will play off in the National Final, held at the Australian Open. 2016 will be the 3rd year the Missiles have been accepted into the competition, with the team finishing 3rd in the conference the past 3 years.

Value to the Community

The Missiles bring our local community together. We have the opportunity to host a Super Round match at our venue (Mornington Tennis Centre), where all teams in the league come to compete at our venue. This attracts lots of people in the community, with kids having the opportunity to see the level that they can progress to if desired. As part of our Super Round we also host a Free Come & Try Tennis Day for kids, where we even have some of the players help out with the kids!

Why the funds are needed

We are asking for funding to supply the team with a full uniform. We would like the team to have matching attire comprising of: Skirt, Top, Tracksuit & Hat.
