Working Equitation is a new and exciting horse sport being offered her in the Gulgong District. With just over 55 members, it is offered to all horse enthusiasts from 9 to 90, but with the exception of a few, our members are mainly under the age of 50. Our club was incorporated in 2011 and only started with 8 members, as the years went on so did our memberships. The discipline of Working Equitation was created with the objective of recognising and promoting the different types of equestrian techniques employed in countries that us the horse to work on the farm. Working Equitation is comprised of four phases, including working dressage, Style with obstacles, Speed with obstacles and Cattle penning. Working Equitation is a fun way to train seriously!
Value to the Community
Our club runs monthly competitions and training days at our local showground in Gulgong. The equestrian community participate on a regular basis, our brightly coloured obstacles make for a fun filled day which keeps them coming back. Whether your riding or just a spectator, its very exciting to watch. A few of our obstacles are sponsored by local businesses which is a great form of advertisement to the community . Our wonderful volunteers & committee members all contribute to running a friendly, yet competitive competition every time.
Why the funds are needed
Due to the expansion of our club members, we are in need of making duplicate obstacles to enable us to run two phases at the same time to enable us to complete the day more safely and efficiently. $1000 will enable us to purchase materials, and build a second Bridge obstacle which needs to be constructed to withstand the weight of horses constantly going over it. This amount will also include signage with your logo on it, which will allow the community to visualise every month that Thermoskin is a contributing sponsor of our club.
