We are a regional/rural netball association, and one 'big' team! We have over 400 members who age between 5 and 50 years of age and commence operating in the 1950s. We hold a competition between March and September each year and we do enjoy our netball. This year we decided to enter this competition as one big team, with majority of our members/players joining in on the team photo we attach to this application. The photo depicts 'MNA" abbreviated for our association name.
Value to the Community
We provide opportunities for community to participate in an organised fun netball activity each week. We partner with local businesses who support us to continue to provide the opportunities for participation. We also have players who represent Muswellbrook and travel away to carnivals and state and state age championships. We develop skills and knowledge for players, coaches, umpires and volunteers through courses, clinics and participation opportunities. We have over 40 accredited coaches, 20 accredited umpires and the whole association is run by a group of skilled and passionate volunteers.
Why the funds are needed
This money would go towards reducing the costs of a clinic. We have planned a clinic, however these come at a cost for participants and can be a barrier for some to participate due to financial pressures. This money would help to reduce the per participant costs, enabling more people to participate.
