About New Horizons Tasmania State Indoor Cricket Team

New Horizons Club Tasmania has been providing sport for people with intellectual disability in Northern Tasmania for 30 years, and since 2008 this has included an Indoor Cricket team. The team is based in Launceston, with 9 players and a very supportive crew of volunteer coaches and trainers. 2016 marks the team's first year as state representatives to compete in the Lord's Taverners Indoor Cricket Nationals in Victoria; a huge honour, acknowledging our player's skills and abilities.

Value to the Community

The New Horizons Indoor Cricket Team bring the message of Inclusion to life within the local cricketing community. The team play in a Launceston indoor cricket roster and are (regardless of disability) accepted as passionate, talented, sportsmen; competitive and fair. For the players themselves and their families, being a part of this team means fitness, skills , pride and mateship. A chance to participate in mainstream life as equals.

Why the funds are needed

The New Horizons Tasmanian Indoor Cricket Team don't have a uniform. With a grant of $110 per player (x8) we would purchase logo-ed team T-shirts, and generic white cricket pants.
