About Pace Running

Pace running was started in 2010 by Jill Boltz as a small group of young men and women who trained together to compete in running events across the state, in 2016 we became a not for profit registered sporting organization, incorporating elite running training and competition. Based in Cairns, Far North Qld we train at locations across North Qld and compete at events all across the state and nationally. We currently have 54 athletes but are growing rapidly, led by former Great Britain dual Olympian Jill Boltz as head coach. Jill Boltz volunteers all her time and resources free of charge, we have had some major achievements already from our team, including 15 members who have made it to state level and 4 who have competed nationally. Our team in ran by those who have a pure passion and dedication for the sport and we would love your support.

Value to the Community

Pace running athletes are extremely visual across Cairns and are becoming very well known through out our local area and Far North Queensland. Our athletes are encouraged to enter all the community based fun runs, Park runs, sporting events and participate in community activities. Not only do our group participate in any run based events that are located in the Far North our group cross train and enter events such as triathlon events, mountain bike races, adventure race, ocean swim and kayaking etc. Our group have been actively involved in community events such as McHappy Day, Australia's Biggest Morning tea, Cardiac Challenge and The Great Wheelbarrow race. As we are a youth team aged 16-25 we are very tech savvy and have a large Facebook and instagram following that allows the community to follow on our activities and achievements locally, state wide and at a national level. Join our journey!

Why the funds are needed

As we are a new youth team we would love to get some uniforms that we can proudly wear in the community, so the funds would be used to help design and produce these. We cover a wide range of demographic and this is something that would be appreciated across our whole team. The most important item would be for run singlets which would be worn at both training and all competitions and events. We would also really appreciate Thermoskins!
