We are a small country soccer association that send teams over to the ACT to participate in the "Kanga Cup " this will be our third year competing . We have 15 girls in our squad and each year some of girls families battle to pay for the gear and fees to get the girls to the competition and we usually run a few cake stalls in which our girls bake their cakes and sell them proudly to help bring the fees and costs down to get them to Kanga Cup for the week . As most of the team are from one income families and single parent families we have a constant battle to make sure we can get them there. I am not sure if you can help us out but I thought it does not hurt to ask ? Regards Michelle Grant (Palerang Pinks Manager)
Value to the Community
Our girls ( Palerang Pinks ) bring a great deal of pride to our small community ,as I said we are a small soccer association in a small country town outside Canberra and we are extremely proud of our young girls (Under 14's this year ) these girls in the team have been playing together for 5 years plus and have formed the most wonderful bond. They love their soccer and are very committed to it in every way and we as a manager and coach want to continue to keep these girls moving up the ranks so to speak ! Our community are quite proud of the girls when they go away each year to Canberra to compete in the Kanga Cup.
Why the funds are needed
the money is needed to help towards buying team bags ,socks and items to get the girls over to the Kanga Cup in Canberra , Last year the girls did comment how nice all the other teams that were competing looked in all there matching gear ,there was over 300 teams from all over Australia last year competing as well as teams from New Zealand and Korea so it is an amazing experience for any child to compete in this competition . So if we can raise the funds needed these girls will look the part definitely this 2016 competition season .
Thank you in advance for even maybe considering our girls
Regards
Michelle Grant (Palerang Pinks Manager)
