About Prahran Rhythmic Gymnastics
The club has been established on the base of High Performance Centre, 10 -12 years ago. Government funded HPC lost it's government support and migrated into a "parent's managed" non-profit-elite-gymnastics club. The club remained in it's high performance centre venue, at first heavily subsidised by Gymnastics Victoria, but recently loosing rental subsidy - picking up 1300% rent increase. The club head coach - International level coach Kateryna Logachova - has produced highly competitive gymnasts who have won State, National and International competitions. Prahran RG is the strongest contributor to the State Team in Rhythmic Gymnastics, with at least 1/3 of Victorian Team coming from the club. The club has vast community involvement, participating in various events from festivals to other sports competitions.
Value to the Community
Prahran RG always participates in various events as unpaid guest performers, in gymnastics and acrobatic shows. Some examples of events Prahran RG took part in are : Moomba Festival, Multicultural Festivals (Slavic, Youth), Teenage Expo, Nursing Home concerts, Dance competitions and festivals. Prahran also caters for local community, it is open for all ages and all abilities gymnasts. Prahran RG regularly invites local government members to competitions to boost importance of sport within local councils.
Why the funds are needed
Funds needed for development of coaches, for upgrading mats, for International trips support to our gymnasts who are 100% funded by parents.
