Our sporting team/organisation is an Australian Icon - Surf Lifesaving. Our club was formed in 1932 through a group of dedicated volunteers who wanted to keep our beaches safe. From here the area of surf sports was developed for our surf lifesavers to have an avenue to compete against the best of the best and showcase their lifesaving skills in boards, resuscitation/rescue, beach events and so much more. We have a wonderful group of nippers who participate in our Junior Activities Program week in week out and learn about surf lifesaving and can utlimately be 'An Australian for Life'
Value to the Community
Our team, our club bring many values to our local community including providing volunteer lifesavers during the surf lifesaving season to patrol our local waterways of Sarina Beach, Campwin Beach, Grasstree Beach and Sarina Inlet. We also provide emergency care training free of charge to our members so they are able to enhance their skills in emergency care. Our nippers also learn basic resuscitation skills at the young age of 7 through to 13 and are also taught about beach/water safety. The emergency care training is also offered to the general public by simplying joining our club and being apart of a great organisation and a great Aussie Icon.
Why the funds are needed
The money would be spent to purchase new club uniforms for our team/club to show the pride of surf lifesaving within our community and to spread the word of our club.
