Show Ski WA Water Ski Club is based at the Burswood Water Sports Centre, 1 Camfield Drive, Burswood. Our show skiers (at present 57 members) have been performing to large crowds for over 30 years. We are a unique club, often being described as a theatre production on water. The basis of our club is obviously the talented skiers, but with much more. We perform themed water ski shows with commentary, music, costumes and props to highlight the theme. We perform water ski shows throughout WA. This season we have performed at the Lotto Sky Show, 4WD and Camping Expo, Mandurah Crab Fest and Garvey Park Autumn Festival. We are also a competition team, competing in our National Show Ski Competition bi-annually (at present 2nd in Australia) since 2011. When we aren't skiing our team are busy with maintenance of equipment, making sure everything is in good working order.
Value to the Community
Our team provide entertainment in the form of free water ski shows for the local community to enjoy. We provide an opportunity for the community to be involved in come and try days (free of charge). We also support local community businesses by purchasing required supplies locally, which include fuel, maintenance supplies and local produce.
Why the funds are needed
The funds will be used to purchase new ski equipment :- To replace ropes and handles that have deteriorated over time with the harsh salt water use. To replace ski binders (6 sets)
