The Table Tennis Teams is from the Southern suburbs of Sydney, our Association has been running for 54 years. We have put together a TEAM of 12 players from all age groups in our club to competition the National Club Championship which is run by Table Tennis Australia. This is the second year of the competition which is being held on the Tweed Heads at TTA Table Tennis Venue. This competition is a true club event which is being used to develop a true bonding of players of all ages. Our club had to players select players in four categories (age groups). The 12 player team are made up of players in 4 ages category which were, 3 x Juniors U/18, 3 x Women, 3 X Mens & 3 x Veterans ( male or female) O/40. This Team won the NSW Club Championship and is eligible to go the Nationals.
Value to the Community
This Teams has brought our members closer together and it feels like one club. It has been noticeable that the Senior Players are interested in the achievements of Junior players and the Junior are aware of what our senior players and what they are achieving in the world of Table Tennis. Since the formation of this team, we have found that we are one united club, not the Junior, the Senior and oldies. It has been the best thing we have done and want to continue the team.
Why the funds are needed
We have selected member for our team on there Table Tennis ability and not weather they can afford to travel to the National Club Championship in Tweed heads. The cost to send a team from Sydney to Tweed Heads for 3 days would be around $5400.00 plus Meals & Transport to & from the airport. The funding will be used for:- Club Uniform (shirts with names on back) $ 480.00. Transport to & from the airport. $100.00 Meals Allowance during the stay in Tweed Heads.
