The Entrance Rugby Union club is a foundation Central Coast Rugby Union club founded in the 1970's. The club is made up of both senior and junior teams who all proudly wear that black and gold colours. Our club has been growing stronger in player numbers, teams and spectators, especially within our junior divisions. This year alone we were able to create TWO under 7's teams an under 8's team and our u10's and u15's teams are booming, bringing our number of players up to around 100. The club has a large following and our home games are always big events that draw large crowds. What’s more, our juniors are becoming some of the most successful and competitive teams on the Central Coast. Additionally, our senior team won their first game (first in a while) and the team song was proudly sung.
Value to the Community
We know allot about the community the club is situated in and we work very hard to ensure community involvement on every level. For instance, we make sure registration fees are at an absolute minimum to help out parents, we also have free registration for under 7's. We host charity shield games where all profit made on the day ($2000) went to the local children's ward, helping parents stay with their children while they were in hospital. We also hold numerous functions in our club house after games where people bring their family and friends, we make a big point of saying that EVERYONE'S WELCOME!
Why the funds are needed
Use new equipment outlined below at all training sessions (twice a week) so that players are able to learn and build up their skills to become a more competitive squad/ club. Additionally, our club gear shed was recently broken into, our pads were ripped up, while some are still usable, others are ruined. With our growing club this year, we are already stretched with equipment to use during training. Create drills around gear (e.g. balls/pads) where players can break off into groups to practice skills they need to work on, rotating from group to group Overtime, increase player’s fitness by using a variety of techniques including physical drills with equipment, creating challenges and goals for players to meet and changing drills so players are continually engaged. Use pads and tackle suits appropriately to ensure minimal/no injuries occur during the training season whilst also using this equipment to properly teach good technique and increase the players skills. Bump pads $70 Tackle bags $250 BALLS: 10 Size 3 balls for two under 7’teams & one under 8's team, 5 Size 4 balls for under 10’s, 5 Size 5 balls for seniors. $16 each = $320 Tackle suits: $57.50 Jackal bag: $330
