About Under 17’s - Team #5

The Croydon North Netball Club incorporates 9 competitive teams but this one is particularly awesome! The girls are all very close and support and inspire each other each week - this bond is evident by the way they play the game they all love, the way in which challenges are approached and progression they make in improvements to their skills - lets not forget being finals contenders!! The current team has been together for 2 Winter seasons - they have just commenced their third... They train at a local school weekly, with enthusiasm and commitment. Their Coach provides feedback and constructive criticism as they complete regular drills and attempt new skills. The girls are responsive and enjoy putting their new skills and abilities to the test on Saturdays during their games, where they have many regular supporters, including friends, family, people from the wider Community and their dedicated Coach.

Value to the Community

The team is part of a small, but very Community-orientated Club that works hard to promote itself within the Community through many avenues - fundraising / advertising to local businesses, inclusion of local people within the team (and Club as a whole) and most importantly, the representation of a fun, supported Community on a weekly basis. The local community played a very important role in the teams' Grand Final participation last season, with lots of support and representation, where unfortunately the team lost by a single goal in extra time, after drawing with their competitors at the time of the final siren. Although it was a very disappointing result, it was an excellent way to celebrate an amazing effort by the Team, which did a wonderful job of representing their Club and local community and has inspired them to achieve the ultimate success at the conclusion of the 2016 season!!

Why the funds are needed

The money would be spent on ensuring that the teams First Aid Kit is kept up to date (and the addition of some wonderful THERMOSKIN products) and on the general equipment required to support the team and enable them to partake in the game of their choice and that they love! Also, the additional funds would mean the team could be promoted more within the local Community, perhaps via ads in the local paper, raising awareness of this team and encouraging others that may be interested to become actively involved. The money would be greatly appreciated and received and help immensely to support the Team.
